Christmas!

Kooper and his new "Cars " undies from grandma D. he loved them and did not want to take them off. We did not want to have a mess so we put his new undies on over his diaper for the time being.

Koopers new jeep! He loves turing on and off the radio. He didn't even want to open the rest of his gifts.
Nikki holding Kooper up, we were tryingto get him to kiss Jenna's belly. I think he thought she had ball in there.

Nikki and Kooper posing

Kooper in his dinosaur sweater from DI

Mike, Kooper and I all dressed up in our Christmas Eve outfits from DI. We had fun shopping earlier that day for an outfit we would never wear on any normal day. I would like to point out Mike's green jeans to match his sweater.

My beautiful Cousin Chelsea, I had a chance to meet up with a bunch of family from my moms side who were all in Salt Lake for Christmas.

Sigh...

Cloud 9

We decorated our friend Chucks office with lots of random pictures of Meegan and I. He had mentioned while in our office earlier today that he wanted a picture with us before I left. So we went overboard and took a ton of funny pictures.
One of our many funny picture we took today.

The original picture of Sergeant Kunsaitis (Chuck), Meegan and I. Chuck is 6'7''!

The girls from the office with our friends Lieutenant Foster and Detective Ball. We all went out to lunch because it is my last week at work.
I have had so much fun today. I have seen most of my Rexburg City police department friends and we stopped in to say hi to one of our Madison County Detective. Needless to say I have gotten nothing done today at work.
To add to my wonderful day My realator called to say we have an offer on our house( Ahhhhhhh!). As I was on the phone with my realator I was getting an incoming call from my mom saying my sister has had her twins. So to recap this is the best week ever, Rochelle is cancer free, Kendall had her twins, and we got an offer on our house.

Happy Day!

I know I need a new picture of my sister I think I have already used this picture before. I just like it I guess. My sister Rochelle has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for a few months. She has just found out she is cancer free and will have two more rounds of chemo with no Mastectomy. I am trying to think of words to describe how happy I am... Nothing special is coming to mind just tears of joy! I love you Rochelle!

packing, shoveling snow, veggie tales...

We packed up our first room in our house, our guest bath. I spackled the holes and painted and cleaned the bathroom it is all ready to go. Makes me a little sad. It even echoes when I walk in.

Mike loves, loves, loves to shovel snow. So this weekend he grabbed his I Pod and went to work. It must be relaxing for him, since we were first married he has always loved to shovel snow.
This is my son on crack, I mean Veggie Tales fix. He didn't even flinch when I was taking pictures. He stood like this for an hour while he watched his movie. He is addicted and I am looking into a good veggie Tales rehab.

Tagged

I was reading through past blogs and wow I sound really grumpy and negative so For a change of pace I was tagged the topic is:

5 things everyone should know about my husband.

I know I just did a blog similar so I am going to switch my topic

5 Things everyone should Know about Kooper

1.) He has his parents wrapped around his little finger. Some would call it spoiled, every kid should be spoiled a little right? If we yell at him and say NO he yells back and tells us No. In return we laugh at our stubburn child. Even when we are mad he is so funny, and can't help thinking everything he does is adorable. Two year olds are the best.

2.) He is hard headed, no literally he is, he hits his head and never cries. The other night he head butted me, I could have sworn at the time my nose was broken and blood was on it's way. He just thought it was funny and kept trying to get me again. When he falls he gets right back up, I love it.

3.) Kooper can count to 10, well kind of. If we help him he will repeat what we say and often jumps ahead to 8,9,10. He can also say his ABC's, well he at least knows the melody to the song any ways and the LMNOP part. He is so smart. O.K. so maybe hes not perfect at them but hey he is only 2 right?

4.) He hates his diaper, his new favorite thing to do is take off his diaper in the morning and sit in his crib. A couple times he has been caught having gone #2 and sitting in his crib with no diaper on. If he is poopy while changing him he will say, "EW EW EW!".

5.) Last but certainly not least, Kooper loves Veggie Tales. He wakes up in the morning asking to watch it and goes to bed asking for it. He has been known to watch it all day on repeat. He loves the songs and sings and dances along. He gets so excited at the mention of Veggie Tales you would almost think he was going to hyperventilate and pass out from excitment.

I am now tagging Mom, Chauntel, & Rochelle. Your topic is still, 5 things everyone should know about your husbands.

Snow

The next 10 day forecast is snow. I don't mind the snow really, I mean I hate being cold and I hate driving in it. If I could stay in side and watch it snow it would be perfect. The problem is when it snows the roads are terrible for days, only the main roads are bearable. I like when it snows and then melts off the roads that same day like back home in Washington. Snow in the yards until April or May is not fun. One year it even snowed in June in Rexburg. Just one more reason I can't wait to move. People keep trying to tell me that Cedar City is as cold as Rexburg, Oh I know it snows in Cedar City, but it is NOT as cold as the Iceburg. The snow actually melts in Cedar. I just need to move to Texas!

Thoughts...

I just wanted everyone to know I will only have my current E mail until the end of the year. My new E mail is b.deroest@hotmail.com

Mike is working in St. George today and stopped in Cedar City to get the key to our new townhome we are renting until we sell our home. I am having a panic attack renting while we haven't sold our house yet. Mikes work will be helping us out a little. I am so emotional lately, I feel so unprepared and paniced nothing is going to work out right. Here are a few things running through my head lately:

need to pack
need to sell house
house need to be clean constantly for people coming through house
need to change address on all bills
need to change back acct.
snowed last night and roads are icy (I hate driving in the snow)
get laundry done
Get to work on time (which i never am, bad habit)
where will I work in Cedar
will Kooper be in day care
finish Christmas shopping
Feed, change, care for Kooper
Hope flights work out over Christmas
I wish Mike was In town more this month
want to potty train Kooper (cheaper if he goes to day care)
need to clean out my office
Need excedrin!

Mike's home

Mike came home last night, he has been gone since Sunday. I'm not going to lie I could never be a single parent, Kooper wasn't even bad this week and I am tired. My work had our advocate Christmas party last night for our volunteers, we had a white elephant gift exchange, and a lots of yummy food. I think it is just starting to really hit me that I am almost done working for the Family Crisis Center, I have two weeks left. I hope I can find a job in Cedar that is as good as this one.

Family Pictures

Beautiful Couple

The amazing Meegan Littlefield took some family pictures for us this weekend. I am not posting the picture I an using for my christmas cards, you will have to wait. Meegan graciously photoshopped a picture of Mike and I that she likes to call, "Beautiful Couple" If you can't tell already it is of course the top picture. Thanks a lot Meegan! I was very pleased with our pictures this year. Trying to photograph a two year old is not easy Kooper was being difficult so it was a fairly quick shoot. I also have to say I designed my own Christmas Card and I am pretty dang proud of myself. After I have them mailed I will post the card on my blog.

Mike

Mike's early Christmas present a new surround sound. He couldn't wait until we move to set it up.
Kool Koop

I decided I blog a lot about my feelings and what I like and dislike so I am going to tell a little about Mike instead.
Mike loves to play, and watch sport, basketball, baseball, football, and golf. His teams are, the Lakers, Dodgers, and BYU football. Every year Mike and his dad get season tickets to BYU football. He could watch ESPN 24 hrs. a day, seven days a week.
Mike is a great cook, in fact most of the time he ends up Cooking dinner and I do the dishes. He is always adding things not on the recipe to spice up the dish, they always turn out amazing.
He pretends he dosen't like to shop but once I get him to the mall he is worse than I am.
He loves music which right now means his I pod, He can literally spend hours downloading music. He takes his Ipod everywhere, Hooks it up in the car, listens to it on the plane, listen to it while he mows the lawn, while he cleans the bathrooms ( I can't stand cleaning bathrooms even my own). he even bought the surround sound that has an I Pod dock.
He has an amazing voice, seriously it is way better than mine, which really isn't that hard to do. When he really tries he gets lots of compliments.
He has a great sense of humor. He is fun to be around because he is always being funny, I am to the point where I roll my eyes and smile. He can walk in to any group of people and make them laugh.
He consumer reports everything, our camera, video camera, the car, surround sound, T.V., baby car seat, strollers. He likes to have the best for our money.

Christmas Tree

Mike is is Salt Lake this week and next week for training, and Kooper is staying with grandma Annette this week. I have made a list of things I want to get done while they are gone. Last night I set up or Christmas tree which took forever. Tonight I am showing my house at 5pm and then doing a presentation at 6:30 at the college. Tomorrow I made an apt. to go to the spa and get a massage, which was a gift for my birthday from my office. I am also doing little sushi and shopping with my friend Meegan tomorrow. Saturday is my office Christmas party which I am hosting as a little going away party from my house. Mike and Kooper will be back Friday evening and I will hopefully have kept busy so I won't miss them so much.

Thanksgiving

Mom and I making Thanksgiving dinner

I am thankful for...

  • Mike, for how loving and supportive he is. For how hard he works to provide for our family. The amazing father he is to Kooper. How he just wants me to be happy.Lets not forget how nice he is to look at!

  • Kooper, and how much fun we have with him. He makes us smile and laugh as well as makes us want to yell at times.

  • My job, I am so grateful that Kooper gets to come with me. I am grateful I get to work with my best friend. I am grateful to be so passionate about the women and children I work with.

  • The temple, I am thankful that I was sealed to my family in the temple. I am thankful to have one close to us as well as the one that is being finished in Rexburg. I am sad that we will move before the temple is opened.

  • My house, sounds silly but I love my house. For our first house it is perfect, I could not have asked for a better home that I am more proud of.

  • My family, for how supportive they are. For how much love they have for Mike and Kooper.

  • My In-Laws, for how much they help us out. For the way they love and care for Kooper.

I could go on and on I feel like I have been so blessed and have so many things to be thankful for. I love where I am at in life I could not as for more.

Party

Playing with the balloons

The balloon bouquet

Kooper did not want to let go

It was My Mother-in-Law Annette's 50 birthday this weekend. Jenna came into town from Houston for her birthday. Saturday Annette, Jenna, Nikki, and I all went and got Mani/ Pedi's then did a little shopping to pass some time until the surpries party. Family from all over showed up to wish Annette a happy birthday at her party. Kooper loved all the little kids, it was chaos. He kept closing his eyes and trying to hit everyone with the ballons. We had a great time!
Mike and I met with a realtor from Help You Sell we are so glad to finally set all of that up, hopefully our house will sell a little faster. Now i just have one thing to worry about, keeping my house clean all the time.
I have to add I just finished a great book called "Twilight" Seriously can not remember the author at the moment. I highly recommend it, I finished it in about 24 hours. I just couln't put it down. There are two more books in the series I will have to slow down on the next ones.

Blessing

I must share my good news! I have been stressing about not having a job in December because the grant for my job was up November 30th. I was afraid I was going to be working at Wal Mart through the holidays. My boss just told me today we got an extension for the grant through Dec. 31st. Yeah!!!! Now I have a job for the rest of the year. I am beyond relieved and feel like I am being watched over.

I hope my sister is not mad I stole some pictures from her blog. I am also really sad I do not have a picture with all of my sisters. The one picture I do have is so small you can't even tell who is who. I guess it is time for us to all get together and take a new picture since it has been two years since I have seen them all in one place. My goal is not brag about my amazing family altough they are amazing and this is my blog so I can do what I want. For the last year or so a few of my sisters have had blogs being that we all live so far away from each other it is a great way to be updated. I am going to steal something from my sister Chauntels' blog that got me thinking.
"Our lesson on Sunday was on Gratitude. I pose a question for all that read this blog. Is there a difference in having gratitude in our trials and gratitude for our trials? and is it required of us to have both? "
Mike and I were in Salt Lake on Sunday and my mother-in-law gave a similar lesson. Why twice in one week have I heard this, this made me think and pray for gratitude in my current trials. I also lately have been reminded repeatedly that the Lord has a hand in all we do. He knows us and our current trials and wouldn't give us anything we can not handle.
My point with all of this is that my sisters blog have turned into more than just an update they are inspirational, and I am grateful for them. My sister has cancer and has started a new blog about this trial in her life. I think the picture I posted of her today if the most beautiful picture I have seen of her. It's funny when you take away the hair you get to see a womens true beauty.

January 8th

Change of plans flights were supposed to start in Cedar City on Dec. 15th now they will not start until Jan. 8th. This means we don't have to move until Jan. 2008. This is good now we have another month to try and sell our house. Bad news is I don't have a job after November 30th and will most likely have to find a job for the Holidays. Mike's last day in Idaho Falls will be November 16th and then he will be working from home until we move to Cedar City. Not sure if it's stress or something else but I broke out in hives today. Flights starting later is a good thing and at the same time I feel like O.K. lets just go already, so we can move on.

Kooper DeRooster

Koop loved his costume, he would say, "cock a doodle doo". He loved knocking on doors for candy, at first he was scared and would hide then he realized what was happening and he loved it. We went around our neighborhood, he was so cute knocking on the doors. Halloween was so much better this year now that Kooper can walk. I think last year he had his costume on less than a half hour. Kooper has had this costume since before he was born, I got it from my baby shower, from Aunt Jan.
