Maddox had his two week appointment today, he weighs 7lbs. 7 oz. 19%, he is 20 3/4 inches 58%, and still has a little head 13.5 in. 10%. He is awake a little more than before, which is fun.
Kooper was telling me the other day Maddox has a cookie in his belly. I asked what he was talking about did he try to feed Maddox a cookie?, I explained Maddox only eats milk. He said no he had a cookie in his belly and pointed to his umbilical cord. Might taste kind of gross if Kooper tried to eat that Cookie. His umbilical cord fell out today, it was bitter sweet he is not a newborn anymore but it was pretty nasty so I am glad it's gone.

I was lucky enough to be able to spend Fathers Day with my pops. My parents are in town helping take care of me and baby Maddox and I love having them here. I love having the help with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my kids, I am taking full advantage of being spoiled.
We had to do a little father sons photo shoot and I love the picture of my boys. Aren't they all so cute?!, I love them all so much and feel so blessed to call them my family.
Kooper is a good helper with Maddox but still has no desire to hold him. Maddox is doing great, it took him a week to really figure out nursing but he finally has it and is doing good. Maddox is such a sweet baby, he hardly ever fusses or cries, and loves to cuddle.

He was a little fussy and did not want to let go of his pacifier. I will have to try again when he is more sleepy.

Look how tiny he is in his car seat. This was not the car seat we planned on using for Maddox we planned on recycling Koopers old one but when we went to leave the hospital and could not strap him in tight enough we decided to buy a new one. That and that the nurses wouldn't let us leave the hospital unless we had a car seat that fit snug. Mike had to run to Walmart and buy me a new travelsystem. This is the one I begged him to originally buy me for Maddox so I am glad in the end I got what I wanted.( I always do!) It comes with the stroller too and is so much better than Koopers old travelsystem.
I realized today that I am not taking enough pictures of Maddox so he will have to have his first photoshoot tomorrow. The days just seem to be slipping by me, I am so glad to have Annette and John, my In laws in town to help, I am worried about adjusting to two kids with out all this extra help. Maddox is doing pretty good nursing, I am not as stressed about it as I was with Kooper so hopefully I can do it longer than with Koop. Kooper still has not held the baby he dosen't want too much to do with him, he is nice to him but just wants to do his own thing. John and Annette leave tomorrow and my parents come this weekend and I can't wait to show off my sweet little boy.

Hello Everyone...this is Mike! Our 2nd boy Maddox John DeRoest arrived early this morning at 5:55a. He is 19 inches long, and 7 lbs. 10 oz. Both mom and baby are healthy and happy!
Here's a little play-by-play on our evening...
Bailey had small contractions all day Saturday which got stronger as the evening progressed. She went to bed around 10pm and nudged me at about 3:00a Sunday morning saying her contractions were strong. We laid in bed for about 20 minutes timing the contractions and both came to the conclusion it was time to head to the hospital. When we were admitted at 4a, Bailey was dilated to a 6. Right away, the doc needed a yes or no on whether to start an epidermal. Bailey, feeling adventurous, decided that she was going to try it without. I left it totally up to her, but added she would score a new pair of designer jeans if she followed through with it. She was a real trooper! The doc broke her water at 5:30a, at which point she was an 8. After some heavy contractions, she started pushing at 5:52 and had baby Maddox at 5:55a! She did amazing!
The pediatrician said Maddox looked perfect and Bailey is recovering nicely. She will be in the hospital probably until 12p Monday morning. Here are a few pictures I snapped right after Maddox's arrival and later Sunday afternoon...
Mom and the boys this afternoon. The swelling had gone down nicely.
Grandma DeRoest flew in Sunday afternoon to help out. Look how excited she is!!!
Maddox has not too much hair up top!
Kooper in the hospital. Looks pretty similar!
This was the best "Koop kissing Maddox" pic I could get. Sorry about the gynormous zit. We popped it the other day and it is healing hopefully!
The new family of four!!!

Nothing too special, almost everything is from Koopers nursery. It's a good thing I still like the nursery set I used with Koop, saved me a lot of money. Kooper never had a dresser so we did get a new dresser and a shelf to match from Ikea. If I could change anything it would be the cherry wood crib and changing table but at least I have a crib and changing table so I can't complain. I don't have very much on the walls just a few emtpy frames. The empty walls really are driving me crazy, I want to do a little vinyl on the walls I just haven't figured out what yet.

I had a Doctors apt today. I am 36.5 weeks and dilated to a 2.5 and 70% effaced. He said I will probably go early (yeah!) he also said I could stay active and didn't seem to be worried that it is so early. I am physically ready to be done so I guess I better mentally prepare. Now that my hopes are up I will be so sad if it takes another 3 weeks for this little guy to arrive.

Our Zions National Park pass was good for a week so we planned on going on another Hike in Kolob Canyon the northern part of Zions which is only 15 minutes from our house. We made plans to go Friday because I worked all weekend, unfortunately it rained and thunder stormed. So Mike took Kooper hiking on Saturday while I was at work. We can not find our little camera and Mike didn't want to pack the nice camera since he had to carry Kooper part of the way, so we have no pictures. They did Taylor Creek Hike it took them 4 hours and most of the hike you walk through a stream, Kooper had fun Mike was tired and sore from packing Kooper.
Kooper started Swimming lessons today, I didn't get any pictures of this because I had to be in the pool with him. He can't start level 1 lessons until he is 4 so he is the oldest kid in his group but he had so much fun swimming with mom. This week is a little crazy with swimming lessons and me working a lot among other things that we tried to fit in before the baby arrives. I am so happy to finally be in June the actual month I am due! If it can be avoided I will never have another summer baby it is way too busy and I hate being this fat in the summer. The only good thing about being busy is it helps the time go by faster.
